Premium Children’s Book Publishing Package Process

Step 1. Editing the Manuscript

We’ll start off our process by getting your manuscript professionally edited. Once we’ve done a full round of developmental editing, we’ll have a clearer idea of our illustration layout. Your manuscript will go for copyediting while we start working on illustrations.

Step 2. Illustration Planning

Now that the manuscript text is close to being locked in, we’ll use our illustration planning template to develop illustration concepts for each of your illustrations.

Step 3. Illustration Sketching

Once we have a complete illustration guide ready, it’s off to a talented illustrator for sketching. We’ll sketch each illustration in black and white before moving to the next stage.

Step 4. Colour Illustrations

We’ll go back for the full-color versions when we have your approval on the illustration sketches. Don’t worry if something isn’t quite right. We have a lot of opportunities for minor edits and adjustments during this stage.

Step 5. Print Formatting and Layout

Now that we have finalized your final illustrations and manuscript, it’s time to start the print interior formatting and layout. At this stage of the process, we combine the front matter, including the title page, copyright, and dedication, together with your text and illustrations, finally adding any back matter, such as your author bio. We do our print formatting in stages, with authors receiving drafts at each stage for review and approval. Once the print interior has been approved, we will design your print and ebook cover before getting your ebook coded and formatted.

Step 6. Uploading and Publishing

Once your print and ebook files are complete, along with any cover files, it’s time to upload and publish your book. We offer complete uploading services if you prefer, but we’re also available to answer any questions throughout the process.
